At Calisto, we believe coffee should not just taste good, it should also do good. From the way we source our beans to the way we package our jars, sustainability is at the heart of how we operate. We know that every cup of coffee has an impact on the world around us, and we want that impact to be positive.

Packaging that respects the planet

We made a simple choice when we started: no shortcuts with packaging. Every Calisto jar is made of glass, which is recyclable, reusable, and long-lasting. The labels are printed on paper, making the entire unit biodegradable and eco-friendly. We want our packaging to live a second life — whether as storage in your kitchen, a planter on your windowsill, or as raw material recycled into something new.

For us, sustainability is not just about what is inside the jar, but also about what happens once the jar is empty.

Coffee grown the right way

Our beans come directly from farms in Coorg and Chikmagalur that practice sustainable farming. That means coffee grown under natural shade, with minimal pesticide use, and with respect for both the land and the people who tend it.

We pay close attention to fair wages and farmer welfare because coffee should not come at the cost of exploitation. When you drink Calisto, you are supporting farming communities that are as committed to the future as we are.

Our facility in Pune

Sustainability does not stop at the farm. At our roasting and processing facility in Pune, we work hard to reduce our footprint. We have implemented eco-friendly processes and invested in solar energy to power our operations. Every kilowatt we take from the sun is one less from conventional sources, and over time, this adds up to a real difference.

By 2027, we are working towards making our roasting process fully carbon neutral. It is an ambitious goal, but one we are determined to achieve.

Already 100% recyclable

A lot of brands talk about “moving towards” recyclable packaging. At Calisto, we are proud to say we are already there. Every single jar you hold in your hands is 100% recyclable. This was non-negotiable for us, and it will stay that way as we grow.
